Update on RSVP hours and the expectations that the 409 Board of Education approved. As you know we are putting a focus on Individual Plans of Study (IPS) for all of our students, this includes students creating a digital portfolio through the course of their high school career. Part of the portfolios is that students will complete a day of service each year with their seminar classes. This will happen during the school day and students will be asked to have a discussion with their seminar teachers and write a reflection for their portfolio. Students will be encouraged to continue to complete volunteer (RSVP) hours on their own in order to earn a cord for graduation. If students do not participate in their day of service they will be required to complete the 15 hours that are required per year on their own.
